Saidframe is an iPhone app for taking photos and videos with a voice note, and an optional online service where an organization keeps those notes together. Cody Stevens Studio LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“we”), makes both. This notice says what leaves your iPhone, who sees it and how long we keep it.
On your iPhone
Without an account, everything stays on your iPhone. Photos, videos, voice notes, transcripts and typed notes are stored in the app. Voice notes are transcribed on the iPhone, and descriptions and names the app suggests are made on the iPhone too. If you turn on location tagging, the app saves where each photo was taken; finding the place name uses Apple Maps. If you choose to save to Photos, a copy goes to your Photos library. We receive none of this.
The app has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn’t share anything with data brokers.
This website counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics: which pages are viewed, the referring site, and the country and kind of device. It sets no cookies and doesn’t follow you across other sites.
When you sign in
Signing in turns on backup to the organization you choose. We then receive and store:
- Your account: email address, name, a hash of your password, the organizations you belong to and your role in each.
- What you capture: photos and videos (originals and smaller copies), voice notes, transcripts, typed notes, tags, the time each was taken and, if location tagging is on, where (coordinates and place name). Originals keep the details your camera writes into them, such as the camera model and, with location tagging on, the location.
- Technical details: IP addresses, used to deliver the service and limit abuse, and short-lived server logs.
We use this only to run the service: to sign you in, back up and show your organization’s captures, send account emails (confirming your address, resetting your password, invitations) and keep the service secure. We don’t sell personal information, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models.
Who sees it
Everything you back up belongs to the organization you chose. Its members can see it in the Saidframe dashboard, as their role allows, and owners and admins decide who is a member. Ask your organization what it does with what you capture; it decides that, not us.
Service providers process information for us: our server host (OVHcloud), Cloudflare (network, security and email delivery) and, when an organization pays for storage, Stripe (payments; card details go to Stripe, never to us). We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect people’s safety.
How long we keep it
- Backed-up captures stay until someone with permission deletes them, then are erased 30 days later.
- Unfinished uploads are erased after 7 days.
- Deleting your account (in the app under Settings, or in the dashboard under Account) erases your account at once. Organizations where you were the only member are erased with everything in them. What you captured for an organization with other members stays with that organization.
- Encrypted backups of our server keep copies for up to 12 months before they expire.
Your choices
You can use the app without an account. You can sign out, delete captures and delete your account at any time. To ask for a copy of your information or to correct or delete it, email privacy@saidframe.com from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days.
Children
Saidframe is made for organizations and their staff. Accounts are not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Security and where data lives
Connections are encrypted, each organization’s captures are kept apart from every other’s, and your sign-in is kept in the iPhone’s Keychain. Our servers are in the United States. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes
Each version of this notice is dated. We’ll email account holders before a material change takes effect.
